2013 Jaguar XF Specifications Review Price Engine

Specification image modification exterior interior price review 2013 jaguar xf
welcome to Neonista.blogspot.com website that provides a variety of information about the latest cars in the world. and this time we will share information about the 2013 jaguar xf, the following information

Jaguar’s XF sedans started a clean break, design-wise, from the brand’s more ornate, traditional ‘saloon’ past, and while theyve been wildly successful over the past several years, it would be fair to say that its all-V-8 lineup has been a limiting factor—especially in a class where a wide range of powertrain options has become the norm.

So for 2013, Jaguar is playing with more of a full deck, introducing both a new turbocharged four-cylinder engine and supercharged V-6 to the lineup, along with new eight-speed automatic transmissions and available all-wheel drive.

The four-cylinder, a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine, making 240 horsepower (and yes, essentially Ford’s EcoBoost four), is standard on a more affordable new XF 2.0 model and offers EPA fuel economy ratings of up to 29 mpg on the highway; perhaps more noteworthy is that it also makes 251 pound-feet of torque between 2,000 and 4,000 rpm. The company also says that it’s the lightest engine ever used in a production Jaguar, and it’s by no means slow, as its 0-60 mph time of just 7.5 seconds demonstrates.

Powertrain Options
The XFs new entry-level engine is a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder that produces 240 horsepower and 251 lb-ft of torque. The other addition for the latest model year, a 3.0-liter supercharged six-cylinder, replaces the previously available naturally-aspirated V8 and produces 340 horsepower.

The range-topping engine is supercharged 5.0-liter V8 that produces 470 horsepower and 424 lb-ft of twist, enough propel the cat from zero-to-60 mph in the mid-four-second range.
All three engines come equipped with an eight-speed automatic transmission. All-wheel-drive is available as an option, but only with the V6 engine.
Fuel economy is rated at 19/29 city/highway mpg for the four-cylinder; the V6 is rated 18/28 mpg and 16/25 mpg in front- and all-wheel-drive forms, respectively; and the V8 returns 15/23 mpg.

The 2013 XF also adds all-wheel drive; initially, it’s introduced only in supercharged V-6 models. For the so-called Instinctive All-Wheel Drive, an active torque management system biases power toward the back but can shift more power to the front wheel to preemptively prevent slip. To aid fuel efficiency of both this engine and the V-8 models, Jaguar has added Auto Start/Stop, which smartly stops the engine at stoplights then restarts it when you lift off the brake.

V-8 engines won’t go away, but they’ll be a smaller portion of the lineup. The 470-horsepower XF Supercharged and 510-hp XFR will continue with their current powertrains and tire-scorching, under-the-radar enthusiast appeal. The high-performance XFR hasn’t been left out completely either. It gets a new Speed Pack option that geared for track-driving enthusiasts, bringing suspension and aerodynamic improvements and raising the top speed to 174 mph.

Infotainment and navigation in the XF have been updated—including new Visual Lane Guidance, Dynamic Zoom, and My POI features to make navigation screens more useful. Jaguar is also turning to Meridian, a British company known for high-end home audio components, for its new premium sound system.

The XF Supercharged also benefits from Jaguars Computer Adaptive Technology Suspension (C ATSTM). Shared with the XK, it uses electronically controlled, two-stage, adaptive dampers whose characteristics are automatically adjusted within milliseconds in response to road conditions and driving inputs.

Numerous options are available, with highlights including different leather and aluminum/wood trim choices, an audiophile-approved 1 200-watt stereo from specialist company Bowers & Wilkins and a radar-based adaptive cruise control system that automatically accelerates or brakes as necessary to maintain a set distance from the car in front.source:thecarconnection.com,leftlanenews.com

2013 Dodge SRT Viper Review

Information Specification Image Review 2013 Dodge SRT Viper
A new logo, a tweaked name, a new look, and a new drivetrain: the 2013 Dodge SRT Viper is reborn, back after a two-year hiatus and Chryslers acquisition by Fiat. Will it live up to the old ones reputation for ferocity, performance, and outright speed? Might it even repair the last Vipers somewhat blemished build quality?

Based on what weve seen at the official reveal of the 2013 Dodge SRT Viper at the 2012 New York Auto Show, the Viper is poised to bite back with a new level of driving finesse and interior craftsmanship.
 Powertrain:
Speculation raises several possibilities, but the most frequent—and most likely—is a revised version of the 8.4-liter V-10 equipped with Fiat’s Multiair variable intake-valve timing system. Output could be as high as 700 horsepower if Chrysler/Fiat decides to challenge the ZR1 Corvette. If that’s the case, a more modestly priced version may be offered with Chrysler’s 6.4 Hemi V-8. The Viper likely will keep its six-speed manual gearbox.
Too bad then, that its not so good – just a blurry, poorly lit image that seems like its more Photoshop than photo. So we went ahead and tried to enhance the image we plucked off of SRTs Facebook page ourselves. If theres one thing we can see for certain from these pixels, its that the new hood design – with two front-mounted, rear-facing scoops – is confirmed.

FIRST DRIVE Honda Amaze review test drive

We drive Hondas new Dzire competitor - and its a diesel!

DETAILS
  • Make  Honda
  • Model  Amaze
  • Edition  i-dtec

Hondas much-awaited Brio-based Amaze could be a game changer for Honda in India. That’s the feeling we got when we drove the car at the Honda-owned Motegi race track in Japan. To give you a brief, the Amaze is a sub-four-metre saloon, much like the Maruti Swift Dzire, which Honda used as a benchmark extensively when engineering this car. However, where the Dzire has divided opinion for its truncated tail, the Amaze has a far more traditional three-box look. In fact, the integration of the boot onto the hatchback body is fairly cohesive. There’s a strong link to the City in the Amaze’s wraparound tail-lamps,which also serve as the end point for the sharply rising belt line. The boot lid itself doesn’t look all that special but it does open to reveal a useable luggage bay. Honda hasn’t disclosed boot volume yet but what’s clear is that the Amaze has trumped the Dzire in this area.
At 3990mm, the Amaze is significantly longer than the Brio, and 60mm of the length extension is over the wheelbase. This, along with the different roof line, has warranted the need for larger rear doors. Further forward, it’s only the restyled front bumper and an additional chrome slat on the front grille that differentiate the Amaze from the Brio.

The big shock is once you step inside. The cabin is far more spacious than you’d expect and kneeroom is really impressive too. Sure, it’s not as spacious as the larger full-size saloons like the Toyota Etios or Tata Manza but it’s certainly a lot more spacious than the Dzire. Seat comfort is really good too, helped by a large centre armrest, though some may find the seat back a tad too reclined. A low centre tunnel helps middle passenger comfort but the cabin’s limited width means sitting three abreast in the back will still be quite a squeeze.

Up front, the cabin looks familiar. The dashboard is identical to the Brio, so you get a slightly Spartan centre console and plastics that, while well put together, don’t look rich. Even the comfy front seats are carried over from the hatch, so just like the Brio, the driver’s perch does not get height adjustment. You can expect the top-end Amaze to feature an audio player with USB, steering-mounted audio controls and a rear defogger, which are not available on the Brio. In-cabin storage spaces include a total of four cup holders. You get bottle holders on each of the four doors though the exposed metal near them is a sign of cost-cutting by Honda.

Space and comfort aside, whats also important is the engine under the bonnet of this car. It will be Hondas first diesel engine in India, and though Honda hasnt revealed the 1.5-litre i-DTEC motors power or fuel-efficiency figures, expect around 90bhp and an official ARAI-tested figure in the region of 25-26kpl. The engine is a scaled-down version of the 1.6-litre diesel that Honda sells in Europe, so this four-cylinder unit has a twin-cam, 16-valve head. On the Amaze, this engine will come with a fixed geometry turbocharger.

Driving it around the Motegi test track in Japan, the motor impresses with its refinement. Even better, though, is its responsiveness. It pulls well from as low as 1200rpm, and theres a gentle surge at 1500rpm when the turbo comes on song. Honda has tuned the engine to deliver the bulk of its power under 3000rpm, which is where the engine will reside in typical city driving scenarios anyway. Also cementing its city-friendliness are the gearshift and clutch action, both of which are smooth and light. However, hold onto a gear longer than necessary and you will find power fall sharply post 3800rpm on its way up to the 4500rpm limit. What’s clear is that this is not a free-revving motor like what we’re accustomed to from Honda. It’s also in the upper reaches of the rev band that you’ll find the engine sound increasingly thrashy, though refinement at lower engine speeds is impressive.

While driving, we also find the steering has more weight than the Brios and this is a good thing. The heavier diesel engine at the front has required Honda to stiffen the front springs though the rest of the suspension is the same as the Brio’s – front MacPherson struts and a rear torsion bar. Even the wheel size at 175/65 R14 tyres are the same. However, given the smooth surface on which we drove, it was impossible to say how the Amaze will take to India’s potholed roads.

The Amaze is no doubt an impressive car. It’s got a spacious enough cabin and a refined diesel engine that promises to be fuel efficient too. It will also be sold with the Brio’s peppy 1.2-litre, 88bhp petrol engine. If Honda can price the Amaze at par with the Dzire it has the potential to shake up the Indian saloon car market. Hondas truly back in the race and how!

New 2013 Audi Q3 S review

Entry into the luxury segment is becoming more affordable. But while most are launching premium hatches, Audi answers with a pared down Q3 SUV.

Audi’s rivals Mercedes-Benz and BMW are busy bringing in expensive, high-end hatchbacks in the form of the A-class and the 1-series, but Audi isn’t joining the fight with the A3 Sportback. Instead, the carmaker is taking its baby SUV a few notches down in price to compete directly with the aforementioned hatchbacks. The advantage of this strategy is quite plain to see – the Q3 is more SUV than hatchback and, as such, will be bigger and offer better perceived value than the Merc or the BMW. Throw in the Indian love affair with the SUV, especially one that has four rings on its nose, and you can see that this move by Audi is more clever calculation than gamble. What will also help tremendously here is the fact that Audi will start assembling the Q3 in India, thereby attracting less duties.

And that’s not all. Audi’s taking another unprecedented step – this Q3 2.0 TDI (it will be called the Audi Q3 S) will come with a six-speed manual gearbox and won’t have Audi’s Quattro all-wheel-drive system. Also, the key challenge for Audi lies in cutting down on equipment without making the Q3 feel too pared down – buyers will still expect it to feel like an Audi.

Our car is a test mule and has fabric upholstery, manual seat adjustment and all-black interiors, but the company says the final car will have all the trappings that customers will expect from an Audi, and that means leather seats, climate control and the optional sunroof (see box). What it won’t have, and what might matter to owners, are Audi’s signature LED headlamps, which were just too expensive to leave on the Sport’s standard equipment list.

The front-wheel-drive Q3 comes with a lower powered 140bhp 2.0-litre engine, identical to the one in the A4. Audi knows that for buyers of entry-level luxury cars, the badge is more important than the engine. They don’t want best-in-class performance as long as they are not left wanting. That’s exactly the case with this Q3. Press down on the light clutch, engage first gear and you’ll discover a smooth clutch action. The Q3’s engine makes a healthy 32.6kgm from as low as 1750rpm and torque stays healthy till 2500rpm.

The Q3 S is quite enjoyable to drive – the gearbox is slick, light and positive and you will often find yourself shifting gears just to revel in the shift action. This Q3, despite its lower power (the Quattro comes with 177bhp), never feels slow. This is partly due to the fact that this car, at 1445kg, weighs a considerable 140kg less than its all-wheel-drive sibling.

That means this two-wheel-drive Q3 gets to 100kph in 9.9sec as against the Quattro’s 8.3sec – not too bad a disadvantage, and in the real world, has more than enough performance. Compare it to rivals like the BMW X1 and the Mercedes-Benz A 180, and you’ll see that it is pretty much par for the course.

Like we’ve come to expect of recent Audi diesels, this four-cylinder, 2.0-litre TDI is smooth and very refined, and Audi’s ARAI-certified fuel efficiency figure is a decent 17.3kpl.

As for the way it drives, this Q3, in the dry conditions we drove it, had plenty of grip and we really didn’t miss the all-wheel-drive traction of its sibling. The handling is secure, if uninspiring, and the Q3’s stability at speed is rock solid. It rides well too – the suspension is pliant and handles broken surfaces well.

As for the insides, even on this test mule, fit and finish are as good as you would find on any Audi, and there’s really no difference in the way the dashboard looks. The dials are the same, the steering wheel and gear lever are leather wrapped, and there’s even an MMI system. Sure, there is some lightness to build quality, but even in this trim, the dashboard feels a lot more interesting than say the BMW X1’s.

This is a compact SUV, so the cabin is a bit cramped, especially at the rear. Legroom and headroom are just about adequate, but not if you’re very tall. The seats are nicely cushioned and have a nice upright stance that’s good for long drives. Compared to the A-class, the Q3 is far more spacious and practical but then again, compared to the stunning looking baby Merc, the Q3 looks boring. If there’s a weakness, we feel it’s with the Q3’s styling – it’s too generic and fails to excite.

Audi plans to price it at Rs 24.99 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi), a good Rs 2.5 to 3 lakh less than the current Q3’s starting price. At this price, Audi also hopes it will tempt people who are in the market for other soft-roaders like the CR-V and the Captiva.

As is, the Q3 is a reasonably spacious, practical and well equipped soft-roader that will appeal to a broader spectrum of people than its intended competition. It comes with a strong, refined diesel engine, an easy-to-use manual gearbox and has most of what owners will expect from an Audi. We think Audi has a winner on its hands.

2014 Chevrolet Camaro Z28

Chevrolet Camaro Z28 2014 - Chevrolet unveiled a surprise today at the 2013 New York Auto Show when it announced the Z/28 nameplate’s revival.
Having just returned from the 2013 New York Auto Show where Chevrolet unveiled the 2014 Camaro Z/28, we’ve amassed the top things about the new track-oriented sports car.

Remember when there was a bit of consternation among the Bowtie faithful after Chevrolet introduced the Camaro ZL1? The issue wasnt around the big coupes awesome performance, it was with the name – many wondered why the company hadnt chosen to exhume the companys legendary Z/28 moniker. There was a bit less of an outcry when Chevy showed off the 1LE model, but only just. Well, apparently theres a good reason why the Z/28 nameplate wasnt used – because they were saving it for this bad boy.

This week the folks at Chevrolet have revealed the 2014 Camaro Z28 (or Z/28 if you prefer), a beast of a vehicle with a 7.0L LS7 V8 engine with no less than 500 horsepower ready for road-thrashing action. This machine works with 470 pounds-feet of torque under the hood paired with a six-speed Tremec TR6060 manual transmission. The look of the vehicle is all classic Camaro with a smooth-yet-sharp set of aesthetics for this years battle with the best.

Chevrolet claims that the new Z/28 is 300 pounds lighter than the already-incredible, 580 horsepower ZL1. That puts the new Z/28 in the ballpark of 3,900 pounds. Not exactly a Corvette Stingray, but considering how capable the ZL1 is despite its weight, a 300-pound drop in heft should do wonders for that chassis

From the ankle-biting splitter, to the plus-sized rear spoiler, along with the integrated hood extractor, the 2014 Camaro Z/28 promises to make substantial gains in downforce over the rest of the lineup, including the Camaro ZL1. At high speed, it’s the physics of downforce that keeps a vehicle suction-cupped to the track, allowing for faster cornering speeds and improved maneuverability. The Z/28 also features fender flares over the front and rear wheels, as well as extended rocker panels that contribute to aerodynamic stability.

While the new Camaro Z/28 is not intended to compete in a specific race series, it is solely focused on track capability. In initial testing, the Camaro Z/28 is three seconds faster per lap than the Camaro ZL1. That extra speed comes from three areas:

    • Increased grip: The Z/28 is capable of 1.05 g in cornering acceleration, due
      comprehensive   chassis revisions

Toyota Corolla Furia concept unveiled

Japanese giant offers first look at the next-generation Corolla with its new Furia saloon concept.

Toyota has revealed its Toyota Corolla Furia concept car at the Detroit motor show, the firm’s first clues as to the future direction of its best-selling saloon.

The Furia is the latest in a string of recent concepts from Toyota with bolder and more distinctive designs, following a personal plea from company chief Akio Toyoda for the firm to become more daring and break free of its conservative image and appeal to younger buyers.

The concept is 4620mm long, 1805mm wide and 1425mm high, with a wheelbase of 2700mm giving it relatively short overhangs. The concept is boldest at its front, with the design a much more striking interpretation of the look found on the new European-market Auris.

A sharply raked windscreen and low roofline ensure a lower, sleeker profile than that of Toyota’s current Corolla. A usual array of more outlandish concept features make it onto the Furia, including 19in alloys, lashings of carbonfibre trim and a large rear diffuser with integrated exhausts.

“The Corolla Furia Concept is an early indicator of where our compact car design may lead in the future,” said Toyota vice president Bill Fay at the concept’s unveiling in Detroit. He hoped the design “would surprise a lot of people".
